Friday

Our dining room at Moor Park School...

...just kidding. Today we went to Warwick Castle [pronounced Warick], one of the largest and most impressive castles in England. It is a very popular destination, hence we encountered many English school children. There was a lot to do...towers, dungeons, parlors, state rooms, raptor show [eagles, vultures and peacocks] and beautiful grounds. Madam Trousseau figures populated the interior space. Guys Tower was the tallest tower with a tiny winding,  narrow, slightly claustrophobic stairway. And the climb was almost as great as the view.

The Queen was there!
Prehistoric fossils in the tile.

View from the tower.
The group is getting very tight.

After Warwick, we traveled a short distance to Strafford on Avon, birthplace of William Shakespeare. A few of us toured his childhood home and watched actors perform excerpts from his plays in the beautiful garden setting.

Some of us visited the town cathedral.

Shakespeare's grave at the cathedral. Sorry for the sideways photos!
