Day 3: Stokesay Castle grounds and Ludlow (by James)

(A cricket match on the grounds of Moor Park school, being played as we arrived on Day1)

One end of Stokesay Castle eerily resembles the Weasley family's Borough

We began Day 3 with about a 20 minute drive to Stokesay.

A view of the Shropshire countryside could be found at the top of Stokesay castle's main tower (not shown here.)

We toured the castle (filled with birds and bats!) and its grounds with beautiful gardens.

We then traveled back to the town of Ludlow.  In the late morning, we toured the Ludlow Parish Church and its different chapels.

Beautifully carved, wooden misericords could be found on the seats in the church's choir stalls.

(A very attractive flower arrangement was set up in one of the church's nooks.)

An even more magnificent sight could be found from the top of the church's tower.  Well worth the £3.

Later in the day, we broke into groups to wander around the village, grab lunch at various spots, and enjoy the beauty and bustle of Ludlow.

A delectable ice cream spot called 'September' in Quality Sqaure (Ludlow)

An abundance of fresh fruits and vegetables!

The River Temes (borders Ludlow), a fun hang out spot for ducks and humans alike

Day 3 was the group's first day without a singing performance, which gave us all the time we wanted to enjoy an old English town and the company of each other.

After dinner, most of us gathered in Moor Park's recreation fieldhouse for a pickup 'football' match.  Now everyone's pretty tired, and wake-up call is especially early tomorrow morning.  We will be visiting Bristol...
